Team Vitality moved into the Group A grand final with a hard-fought sweep against Astralis on Friday at the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups event.
Vitality won 16-12 on Overpass and then overcame a 12-4 deficit to win 16-14 on Nuke.
Astralis can earn a rematch with a victory in Saturday's lower bracket final against Team Liquid, who eliminated Evil Geniuses with a 16-6 win on Mirage and a 16-7 decision on Vertigo.
Twelve teams, broken into three groups, are competing for shares of $150,000 in the event that runs through Sept. 26. The top two teams from each group advance to the Fall Finals while the bottom two from each group advance to the Fall Showdown. The winner earns $25,000.
All matches are best-of-three in the double-elimination format.
On Friday, Richard "shox" Papillon recorded 49 kills and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut compiled a plus-13 kills-deaths differential for the all-French Vitality squad. The all-Danish Astralis side was paced by Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen with 50 kills and a plus-9 differential.
In the lower bracket battle, American Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski led Liquid with 38 kills and Canadian Keith "NAF" Markovic posted a team-high plus-13 kills-deaths ratio. EG got 34 kills and a plus-1 differential from Michal "MICHU" Muller of Poland.
Group B action begins Monday and Group C on Sept. 24.
The first team eliminated, Evil Geniuses earned $5,000 and 400 BLAST Premier points for finishing in 10th-12th place.
