New York City FC have struggled mightily on the road this season. However, their next match will come against a team with just one win at home this season.

NYCFC (10-8-5, 35 points) have lost three straight on the road and carry a 2-6-3 record away from home into Saturday's encounter with FC Cincinnati (4-11-8, 20 points), who are just 1-4-5 at TQL Stadium.

NYCFC saw their overall winless streak extend to three matches (0-2-1) following a 3-3 draw with FC Dallas on Tuesday.

"We are in a tough period now. We have to accept that we have struggled the last games to get the results we wanted, the performances have been up and down," NYCFC coach Ronny Deila said. "Overall, we are in a position now where we have to get back on track again."

Jesus Medina celebrated his return to the lineup by scoring his eighth goal of the season in that contest. He tallied twice on April 24 as NYCFC improved to 5-0-0 all-time against Cincinnati with a 5-0 romp.

Valentin Castellanos, who collected a goal and an assist in that encounter versus Cincinnati, has scored five of his team-leading 11 tallies in his last five matches for NYCFC.

FC Cincinnati recorded their first win at home last Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC. The positive vibes didn't last long as the club ventured on the road and dropped a lopsided 4-0 decision to Atlanta United on Wednesday.

"I think we need to come together as a group and say, 'What are our goals for the rest of the season?'" Cincinnati's Caleb Stanko said. "I think there's been a lack of goal setting. Everyone wants to make the playoffs, everyone wants to do well, everyone wants to be a champion. We need to be realistic with where we are.

"We have what, 11, 12 games left? How many points do we want to get out of those? We need to come together and say, 'This is our goal for the last few games.'"

Brenner has scored three of his team-best six goals in his last seven matches for FC Cincinnati, who will be without Ronald Matarrita on Saturday due to yellow card accumulation.
