AMMAN, JORDAN - The Jordanian foreign ministry has condemned what is decsribes as Turkish aggression of the Syrian lands, calling for an immediate halt.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi said Jordan calls for Turkey to immediately halt its aggression against Syria, according to a sgtatement by the Jordanian-based privately-operated Ammon News Agency.

Minister al-Safadi expressed his country's rejection of any attack against Syria's sovereignty, condemning 'the aggression against its territorial integrity.'

Al-Safadi reiterated that the political solution is the only solution to the crisis in Syria which would preserve its unity and allow it to eradicate terrorism and its danger.

Canada too condemned the Turkish advance on Syria,

A statement from Ottawa said Canada considered the Turkish offensive was endangering the stability of the area and puts at risk efforts to elimintae the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization.

Reuters quoted Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland as saying that Canada firmly condemns Turkey's military aggression against Syria .

"We call for the protection of civilians, and we call on all parties to respect their obligations under international law," Freeland was reported as saying.
